Barefoot Jason’s “Ultramarathons for Lazy Runners”

jason robillardIn case you’re not already following barefoot ultra-marathoner Jason Robillard’s blog, Barefoot Chronicles, I just wanted to let you know about the latest series of posts he’s working on. Starting yesterday, Jason began a series called Ultramarathons For Lazy Runners: A Guide to Becoming a Back-of-the-Pack Ultrarunner, where he’s documenting the process in which a “lazy” runner becomes an ultra-marathon runner (at least how to finish one…maybe not win one!) As a runner who would love to run an ultra-marathon at some point, I’ll be tuning in daily to learn any tricks of the trade I can get from Jason and recommend you do the same!

Another interesting thing I found on Jason’s site was something I’ve been looking for recently…an ultra-marathon schedule, organized by either date, location or distance. It’s sad to see only three ultras in my home state of Connecticut, but it’s not the biggest of states I guess.

You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.

Love the concept of the book. Ultras seem so unattainable for so many runners, so a guide for beginners is in order. Thanks for sharing.

[...] In case you’re thinking about transitioning to barefoot running or maybe you’ve already started, Jason of Barefoot Chronicles is offering a chance for a free copy of his e-book, The Barefoot Running Guide. I’ve already received my free copy and just realized that it is very thorough (86 pages!) I’ll be giving it a good read soon to see what tips it can offer. Remember, if you’re interested in getting into ultra-marathons, Jason is also working on a guide for that, which I’m keeping track of here. [...]
