Hot and humid…perfect if I was training for Badwater!

Just felt like stating the obvious, but it’s been VERY hot and humid these past few days in southeastern Connecticut. I went for a 5+ mile trail run on Monday at 9 AM and it already felt like I was running in the jungle. I’m hoping the temperature will drop a little bit, as I need to get in some solid long runs these days as I begin serious training for the marathon in October. I’m assuming/hoping it won’t be 90 degrees with 90% humidity in Newport in October! Anyways, here are some links for your enjoyment to hold you over until the next time I break away from home improvements and wedding planning :-)

heh, you made me blush a little…

  2. Be careful in that heat – stay hydrated! When it’s hot and humid like that, I can’t even run for 30 seconds.

Hope your wedding planning is going well.

Re: Posterior Tibial Trouble – Turns out there’s a lot more than just three of us! My own trouble started back in January, with a completely silly situation, but progressed, healed and then relapsed. Since the relapse it’s been a long, slow recovery, which I’ve reported on over on The Barefoot Experiment: http://roderickrussell.com/running/2010/04/running-injuries-and-depression/

That’s just one of many blog posts in a series, and on all of them you can find comments from other PTT sufferers. :(

And remember, in regards to Fleet Feet and that idiotic letter they sent out, that they are a franchise, and one store does not necessarily represent the chain. My own experience with Fleet Feet has been beyond stellar, and I reported on that here: http://roderickrussell.com/running/2010/05/fleet-feet-sports-in-pittsburgh-is-the-bees-knees/

Enjoying your blog. Keep up the good work! Perhaps we’ll run into each other at an event?
